Origins and activity
A company founded, owned and managed by a family, that since the year 2005 is fully involved in design and production of gas diluters, using the equal capillaries technique. The main purpose of gas dividers is to keep available when requested different concentrations obtained by diluting dynamically two or more gases or mixtures in different proportions.
The main purpose of this function is testing gas analyzers linearity : when this property is not well performing linearity deviations can affect the measured concentration with important errors. Gas dividers can also be used to handle different tests : sensitivity, repeatability, cross sensitivity
The background of tecnical skills required to go deeply in this technology involves Analytical instrumentation, Mechanics, Electronics, Physics and Mathemetics... with some chemics
Up today, The most part of Company profits were re-invested in :
- Design , prototypes and tests for new products or updatements to extend new functions to existing products : when not including expensive hardware change, this was supplied free of charge.
- Design and construction of testing equipements : special requirements need of custom solutions. Even standard measuring instruments from standard market had been purchased .
In fact the technics and procedures we use for selecting “nearly equal capillaries” have a very important role in assuring the production metrological quality even before the calibration. Calibration is done as option to assure traceability, and generally the measured deviations are extremely low. Anymore the measured deviations are written in the diluter memory to correct the diluter response.
The commercial power
It’s the sole company function that we know having neglected, not for little consideration of his importance, but because our production niche is too much narrow. Too many contacts with potential clients are just lost time for us and them : just they know when it’s time of searching on the market a gas divider. This is our time to be known and to have good references : we are used to consider each new client extending our commercial network. When it’s time to buy the first gas divider the most used “tools” are the word of mouth and the web searching and we are in both.
The satisfaction level is mainly due to two factors
- Easy of operation: BetaCAP series diluters are not elemental in the circuit and in the firmware, but big care was placed in simplifying the user handling. A lot of information are available, but the user need of them just in case of a problem to understand if it’s due to external or internal cause.
- Another appreciated detail is due to compactness and ruggedness of BetaCAP series : using manifolds in construction this is the result and using capillaries (never one broken) the stability is assured for many years : we suggest the metrological verification each 3 years and this is giving the user lower costs and higher availability.
Some features and applications
All our diluters are equipped with electronic pressures control across capillaries (OUT-IN) : this function assures a repeatability of ± 1hPa over 2000, but the most important point is that pressures control setpoint is the link joining the diluter theoretical calculations to the real functions.
The BetaCAP series was implemented to satisfy different clients requirements:
- Linearity tests (also repeatability, sensitivity…), for gas analyzers used in Emission, Automotive, process;
- Linearity tests and calibration for gas analyzers used to monitor ambient air;
- Cross sensitivities test . With two independent dilutions and two test gases including the measurand component and the cross sensitive component is possible to test cross sensitivity complying with relevant rules : checking just cross sensitivity with the measurand component = zero, is not a regular test.
All of the series BetaCAP are equiped with a wide display were all the parameters playing a role in dilution are shown in a way that the user can have a full picture of dilution process identifying immediately the reasons of a wrong responce and having the information to under stand and possibly to correct the error.
Another common feature is the availability of 3 to 4 analog inputs that can receive and isolate analyzers measuring signmals : This feature is used when diluter is driven by PC with an automatic sequence. In this case the PC knows the theoretical concentration value and, receiving the instant measured concentration value, can evaluate the analyzer properties.
Remote management of diluter can be done with custom software by the client, having a clear communication protocol in the instruction manual. A simpler way is using our software InfoCAP3000, already tested and ready to allow unmanned tests and custom reports.
