{"id":2377,"date":"2024-04-03T00:28:47","date_gmt":"2024-04-02T22:28:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.beta-strumentazione.it\/calcoli-necessari-alla-gestione-di-betacap30\/"},"modified":"2025-04-28T14:46:45","modified_gmt":"2025-04-28T12:46:45","slug":"calculations-required-to-manage-betacap30-and-similar-gas-diluters","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.beta-strumentazione.it\/en\/calculations-required-to-manage-betacap30-and-similar-gas-diluters\/","title":{"rendered":"CALCULATIONS REQUIRED TO MANAGE BetaCAP30 AND SIMILAR GAS DILUTERS"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">BetaCAP diluters are fully complying with their transfer function : the user inputs the wanted resulting flow, the dilution ratio and the gas composition. The gas divider puts those data in an equations system and get back the capillaries partition and the pressures to be applied at capillaries ends (span gas side and diluting gas side).&nbsp; The cited transfer function includes the logic reproducing the diluter performances and the physics of the flows in capillaries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"tw-target-text\">It is necessary to point out that two types of dilution must be distinguished:<br>&#8211; Dilution steps, equal to N (integer) \/ Total capillaries, which indicates the distribution between the capillaries fed by TG1 or TG0<br>&#8211; Effective dilution, equal to N (decimal) \/ Total capillaries, which indicates the ratio between the TG1 flow and the total output flow<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Such a control type can be only applied thanks to the electronic pressures control<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">WHICH IS THE STARTING POINT?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It\u2019s the User request, the user can ask for:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A dilution ratio (in this case the target is immediately available). The system of the three above equations is calculated in one time to get the solution (N, dP1, dP0), but before that it\u2019s better to prevent consequences due to special conditions :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>If the viscosities of TG1 and TG0 are very different (it\u2019s possible to reach factors near to 3 or 0.3) the calculation of dP1 and dP0 lead to very different values, and this is not desirable, for various reasons.&nbsp; To avoid this, the more viscous gas is allowed to cross more capillaries and this reduces the applied pressure requirement.&nbsp; The more suitable capillaries partition (N calculation) is found setting dP1 = dP0&nbsp; in the equations system :<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"431\" height=\"197\" src=\"https:\/\/www.beta-strumentazione.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/ScreenShot_20240604190230.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1075\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.beta-strumentazione.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/ScreenShot_20240604190230.jpeg 431w, https:\/\/www.beta-strumentazione.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/ScreenShot_20240604190230-300x137.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/www.beta-strumentazione.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/ScreenShot_20240604190230-370x169.jpeg 370w, https:\/\/www.beta-strumentazione.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/ScreenShot_20240604190230-410x187.jpeg 410w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 431px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Please note that the capillaries number coming out from calculation is decimal, but our equal calipparies must be threated as integer numbers. Than, the capillaries partition is necessarily defined as an integers ratio, using approximations to integer and the approximation error is exactly recovered by applying dP1 and dP0 that solves the equation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"2\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Normally, for metrological applications it\u2019s made the metrological certification which provides measuring of the flows deviation setting one at a time all of the main dilutions. Overlapping the deviation for each of the capillary groups involved by the requested \u201cN\u201d, it\u2019s easy to calculate&nbsp; how much real dilution Kdil.r is deviated respect the target dilution. Ni is the brown trace and Nd the green.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It\u2019s useful to observe what\u2019s happening in the various points of the horizontal segment in the brown step. Note that dilution grows linearly moving from left to right (trace green) :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The left side shows points where Ni is higher than Nd required  : in this area dilution is regular when P1\/P0 &lt; 1<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The middle area where Ni is near to Nd required : in this area dilution is regular when P1\/P0 is about 1<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The right side where Ni is lower than Nd, required : in this area dilution is regular when P1\/P0 &gt;1.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Each front of step (when N changes to N+1), there is a sudden change : the pressures ratio do revert (P1\/P0 changes from higher than one to lower than one) and N is incremented : with all this bailamme the Dilution is changed just a very small amount (step is nearly vertical).&nbsp; It\u2019s the right point in which to check the calculation accuracy.&nbsp; We made those tests, not requiring a special instrumentation, and got the demonstration that the dilution equation matches perfectly the diluter logics and the capillaries physics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>BetaCAP diluters are fully complying with their transfer function : the user inputs the wanted resulting flow, the dilution ratio and the gas composition.
